Tiny Book - Part 3 - When our needs got judged as kids...
Hi friends,
As far as I can remember, my needs were constantly judged and criticized by adults around me when I was a kid. I was “too intense”, “too sensitive”…
Not as they wanted me to be.
So, I did what kids do in this situation: I concluded that I was the problem.
The next pages of the tiny book I’m currently working on are about this.
I hope they will bring some peace to those of you who still hear a voice in their heads saying they are bad for having needs ❤️
If you want something to read while I finish this book, my eBook Raised by Emotional Ghosts is still available on my website, and ADHD & Emotions is now available in paperback and eBook on Amazon ✨
I wish you a lovely day,
Keep your Bravefire burning,
Alice

I was often told as a kid- by doctors and teachers as well as my family- that I was ‘too sensitive’. Like it was my fault I had big feelings they didn’t understand. Now I have my adhd diagnosis and know about rejection sensitivity and hypersensitivity being very real things a lot of neurodivergent people experience it makes me mad I was always made to feel so bad about it. I wonder how many adults told me I needed a thicker skin because they too were told the same.
Wow, really powerful stuff. It made me cry. Yes, this was done to me as a kid, and yes, I'm doing it to my own kids. I totally see the connection.
